Back from my last masonic meeting until September. Lodges often take breaks in july and august. It stems from a tradition set back when temples had no air conditioning. Eventually, after A.C., the tradition sort of stuck and most (not all) lodges/other masonic orders continued to take a break in these two months.
Tonight, it was a meeting of My beloved Council of Royal & Select Master Masons (an appendant order of the York Rite). As I’ve mentioned before, I am a presiding officer in this body and my title is that of the Principal Conductor of the Work (number 3 in charge). I’m sitting in my chair in our room, Oriental Hall. To put that in some context, you’ll note in the picture in the previous link that there are three, almost connected, chairs at the far end of the room. Mine is the one to the right of the largest (or center) chair.
Other than that, it’s disgustingly hot out, but at least I’ve got some Pizza.
