“Halloween” - Swimmingpool The Band
Here’s my latest song from ‘Milagros’. It’s heavily textured and not as rhythmic as the last piece. Also unlike the last piece, “Halloween” is much less cryptic and far more personal.
The narrative described concerns events from my childhood, 12 or so, until now. I won’t go much further into it in an attempt to not further influence your own response to it. Layers of feedback and drone shift and crash over repeating guitars and half-hushed vocals. Here, the ambient-elements of my instrumental pieces mix harmonically with the recent attempts as more structured, less impulsive, songs.
I do hope you enjoy. The link to download is above. The lyrics are down here:
“
The power was out
and there were lights everywhere
from the fire trucks
and from the first respondersyou were
catatonic
looking up
towards heavenreds and blues
reflected off the pavement
and the mirror ball
from your broken bottleI remember
your voice when I was young
in a message you left
for me when I got homeyou were crying then
about the arrows of love
about the smaller beds
in the psych wardit made me shake
it made me shrink
I felt like a child
I felt like a living ghost
”
As always, it’s me on vocals, guitars, keys and anything else. Feel free to reblogg, download and distribute (with credit) as much as you want. Thank you already to those that continue to support my music.
