Ho hum. It seems this insufferable muggy heat will never end. With my luck, it’ll stay like this until December.
Oh well, at least it’s nearly the weekend and I’ve found my tacky floral short sleeved shirt.

It was too hot hot and muggy out today and we never even got the thunderstorms that were promised in the forecast. Humph.
It’s beer time.
Recently, we’ve been cleaning out some of the lockers at the Masonic Temple where I work. Much of the regalia that we’re finding is no longer used (mostly due to their age and, in many cases, delicacy) and, because of it, are up for grabs. I’m slowly combing through what’s there and I’ve already made two finds.
Of those two finds, I’m wearing one of them in the picture above. It’s a sash typically worn by either Knights Templar, Knights Kadosh (of the Scottish Rite, which I am) or the Swedish Rite. It features a templar cross with the latin phrase ‘In Hoc Signo Vices’, or, In this Sign you Will conquer. All of the orders I named are christian in nature with the exception of Knights Kadosh, which used to be purely christian (No longer is).
Ho hum. Work tomorrow. The weekend is rounding out nicely as Raw is on and, on a totally unrelated note, I went to the doctors today and happily realized that my semi diet is working well as I’ve already started to loose weight.
Here’s to shedding a few more pounds.
With nothing exciting to repot on this peacefully uneventful Sunday, I’ve retired to a night of fumbling around the internet, smoking cigarettes and making a Screwdriver (or three).
I hope everyone else is having a nice Sunday.
After an unusually long saturday at work, the official start to the weekend was capped off by a trip to the immaculate and delicious Hot Diggity (if you’re ever in philly it’s worth a trip. best hot dog place I’ve ever known) and a followup trip to Philly AIDS thrift where I found the an often illusive Jacket that both looks nice and fits perfectly.
A decent start to the weekend for what it’s worth. And, yes, I am wearing a lovely bolo tie.
Ah, yes, it’s Friday night. The weekend, for me anyway, is nearly here, I’m onto yet another Corona and Mario 64 for the DS just came in the mail.
It seems as though the weekend is shaping out to be low-key, but pleasant.
Pictured above is me in my Masonic Regalia (taken tonight in Oriental Hall). Sorry about the awkward lighting. It somehow makes my eyes look far more deep-set than they are. Anyway, I just got back from my beloved Cryptic Council Meeting (Royal & Select Master Masons) wherein I actually ended up (as my duties as Principal Conductor of the Work) filling in as the presiding (or lead) officer of the Council, Thrice Illustrious Master, since the other two elected officers were stuck in the hell that is philadelphia traffic.
All in all, the night went fairly smoothly as they often do. In my hand is the gavel which I use to orchestrate the flow of the meeting (Causing certain people to rise and sit, ect…).
Just got back from a lovely evening with the brethren of Columbia Lodge 91 (Free & Accepted Masons) wherein we had our awards night. The awards night didn’t take place in the temple (I took the picture above earlier in the day), but at a quiet south philly banquet hall. There, we awarded Vince Papale for his contributions to Philadelphia and his legacy as an Eagle. It was well attended and enjoyed by all.
Last year, we gave our award to National Museum of American Jewish History. We donated to the charity of their choice (which was one of many Holocaust Survivor organizations. It should be noted that freemasons were among the many other scores of minorities surpressed in world war two with a quarter million freemasons being sent to concentration camps simply for being members, see here: http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10007187). I can’t recall what tonight’s charity was, but come monday, when my lodge meets next, I’ll post about it.
All in all, a nice night was had.
Tonight’s proven to be a fitting cap to a long (and very much deserved) weekend (I took the picture earlier today). Raw is on, I’ve got an ample amount of beer on hand and, with the help of havinghorns, I had some wonderful steak tonight. Here’s to more beer and, hopefully, more long weekends.
Back from work. The weekend (a long one for me, finally) is finally here. Send me creative vibes in the hope that I can use my time wisely and conquer my writer’s block.
Casual suit friday. The weekend (a long weekend this time) is just around the bend. Now it’s time for a woodchuck and smackdown.
The bad months are coming. The days are getting longer and hotter. The tourists are spreading about the city. Here’s to surviving another summer. This next woodchuck’s for you, tumblrites.
